Stickies tend to get ignored, but I hope that you will check out the new temporary sticky at the top of our board about signatures. These guidelines were determined by an informal poll of the board members here.

We are hoping to clean up our board a bit and decrease scrolling. Most of the time, you can keep all the same information, just format it a little differently.

Please put doll lists horizonally on one line. Decrease empty lines between items on signatures. Make your signature wider rather than taller.

Check out the sticky for examples of signatures that fit our new size guidelines.

    Thanks!

Is my sig alright? I've been meaning to ask

Thanks for asking. Since you don't have any tickers and little text, you can have a larger picture like this one. It is very cute. However, it would help if you deleted the empty line between your text and your picture. This is about the largest size picture that would be considered reasonable.

    Is mine ok?

    Reply from Judi~
Yes, it fits within the guidelines. I love your picture. All your girls, both real and AG, are adorable. The way you did your doll list horizonally rather than vertically is what will help reduce a lot of members' signatures and reduce scrolling. If you want to make it a little more compact, you could eliminate the blank line between your doll list and albums. You can use the URL function to put a name on your album link rather than the web address so it shows up like Starla's or mine. Thanks for asking!

Ok I know this will get old but..... is my siggy ok?

I think it fits into the 3x5 size... the only thing I can see is that I have 5 lines of text instead of 4 BUT I have a small picture... does it work for everyone?

    Thanks!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">The "guideline" is for 4 lines of text. You have 5 lines of text on my computer. There are several ways you could make this a little more compact. You could change the font size or you could rotate the quotes. For example, have the Jewel quote for awhile and then change it up and have the John Mayer quote. You could also put the quote in a different color so that it looks different than a post would look. These are just suggestions, however. Thanks for asking.

I think lines of text is a tough guideline- on my computer Mayergirl's signature shows up as 8 lines of text.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yes - it is a tough guideline but I didn't want to have to count characters. This may have to be one of the areas tweaked.

We are not going to get really nit picky about this as we all have different computer equipment. For now, this is just a guideline rather than a pixel/byte rule according to the wishes our members here.

As I said before, we want to eliminate the really huge pictures and long, tall lists of dolls with 1 doll per line. We also want to maximize the tickers at 2 tickers. Hopefully, the examples on the sticky will show what would be considered reasonable and appropriate. Since you are seeing the examples on your computer, you can compare your signature to the examples and see if you are in the ballpark.
